After 34 years of government service, the mission continues with powerful programs
With over three decades shaping India's digital governance landscape, Vinod Kumar Singla transformed Kurukshetra into a model digital district. As the District Information Officer at the National Informatics Centre, he pioneered e-Governance solutions that impacted millions of citizens.
Starting his journey in 1992 as a Statistical Assistant at the Women & Child Dev. Dept. in Jind, Vinod Kumar Singla joined NIC HQ, New Delhi in 1997 and was transferred to Kurukshetra in 1999. After retiring on 31 March 2026, he continues his mission from his Office in Sector 7, Kurukshetra — training students in Power BI & N8N, empowering senior citizens through the Digital Saathi program, and sharing daily digital tips via the Smart Work Series.
